Flipboard is totally a customizable mobile magazine app developed for smartphone users, and is available in 20 languages. The contents in this app are collected from different informatory websites and also from social media, thus allows user to flip through all those feeds. It was developed in 2010 by a United States based company Flipboard Inc. which was founded by Mike McCue and Evan Doll. What Is Flipboard?
Evan Doll, former engineer of Apple iPhone and Mike McCue, former CEO of Tellme, launched Flipboard in 2010. This app was designed, as both the developers wants to know how a website will look when designed from scratch. They made Flipboard app with a simple graphical format that looks like a magazine. When it was launched the contents came from different social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Once the application became popular, contents from the partner websites of Flipboard Inc. was also posted in the app.
Flipboard was firstly developed for iPad devices and in December 2010 for iPhones and iPod Touch. In 2012 services of Flipboard were extended and released for Android phones, starting with Samsung Galaxy S3. Later on in 2013 Flipboard was launched for Windows phones and in the starting of 2015 Flipboard web version was also made available for users. Best part is user won’t have to pay for this app as it is available for free on their respective app stores.
